does anyone have any info on computer interchanges. mines junk and I dont want to drop a grand on a new one.
I have a n3h6 18 881e in my car but all the ones I find through ebay and the like are always a letter or digit off.

I believe it has to be programmed to work with your car due to the security features.

anybody that has a computer can write PATS system will be able to help you, usually some big shop.
the computer itself, last I checked was about 2.7K.
sure you can get rid of the Security info but do it only if you're sure no one messes with your car. Cuz it will be as easy as just jumper wire it.

that was actually the very first PCM at the beginning of the 2004 model year, there were over a dozen PCM upgrades in 2004 alone, I think you can probably use another 2004 6 spd PCM though you may want to research that some before making the plunge. In fact I don't even think you can order that particular number for replacement. If so, a Mazda dealer can advise you on the replacement #

All 2004 PCMs are, technically, interchangeable, but you will need to have the as-built data and immobilizer data programmed.
There are 20 or 30 different part numbers for the 2004 PCMs. The pricing is $400 - $500, dealer cost.
