I suspect the issue at hand may have been switching oils. I went from 10w 30 royal purple to mazda's castrol oil for the last 2000kms before failure.=

Do you have the 8year/160,000km warranty over there? Because... if so, it failed just in time :D
But don't tell them you used synthetic.

whoa whoa, dont self diagnose it as an engine failure. The last 4 times I did that it was a small fix and I stressed for nothing.

First, lets check the obvious:

Coils.
Plugs.
Wires.

Also check your cat converter. Best of luck

Does your car have any power? if not it could be battery.

The 160000km warranty doesnt apply in australia, and the dealerships here started castrol semi synth 10w 30. So royal purple shouldnt be a issue regarding warranty but it doesnt apply to me as im warranty-less :p.

an engine does not generally fail that way . More likely a fault as mentioned by the others

So many possibilities , faulty fuel pump, dirty sock in fuel tank, fuel pump fuse/relay, out of gas, faulty inhibitor switch, out of gas....the list is almost endless. Hope its not an engine.

my car has the same issue except opposite. I refuel my tanks at the 2/3 to 1/2 mark, lately reading at half a tank its only been taking around 5 gallons at the pump... how much did the fuel sensor cost you?

good, see that's why I told you not to jump to conclusions lol. The problem is that every expects our engines to fail due to the false information regarding engine failures lol.

I literally stressed out 4 times thinking I needed a new engine and everytime it was a simple fix.
