2004 RX-8 Automatic transmission, can't fit the flywheel to the torque converter.
Hi Guys Me and my Dad need some help,
Our 2004 RX-8 with an automatic transmission has had an engine rebuild. We are currently in the process of fitting the engine into the engine bay.
However we cannot get the flywheel/flex-plate to fit to the torque converter. What's happening is the torque converter is way too far back, we have aligned everything and the bolts have all gone in around the bell-housing so the alignment shouldn't be an issue. But we can't pull the torque converter out towards the front of the car to meet the flywheel in order for it to be screwed on. We have however tried to pull it forward while not mis-aligning it so that it is as far forwards as possible but it's still around 1-2 centimeters (about 2/3rd s of an inch) out. - It does not want to go any further.
Seemingly there is no tutorial or DIY Thread about this problem on this forum. Any advice on whats happening or how to attach it?
Thanks heaps,
Ryder
