Engine Light On

Hi guys. My engine light came on last week (and is now on AGAIN) so I took it to Mazda and the code they pulled said Intake Manifold valve stuck open. I haven't noticed any hesitation or anything and the car drives just as good as it did when I bought it. However, Mazda is trying to tell me that I need to replace the Intake Manifold Valve for $2200...I found this a little bit ago...

---Hesitation and/or a lack of power can be caused by the secondary shutter valve (SSV) in the intake manifold becoming stuck open due to carbon build up. This may occur with no Check Engine light illumination but eventually the light will illuminate. There is a cleaning procedure and a revised SSV to fix the problem.---

Mazda told me that they did they cleaning procedure, but didn't say anything about a revised Secondary Shutter Valve to fix the problem. My engine light came on again last night. Does anyone know anything about this issue?

Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

search around the forum, there are certainly a few threads on this and how to fix it yourself, specially if it's stuck. Now after they cleaned it, do you know if it's the same code thats coming up or a new one?

There was another thread recently about this secondary valve....redline.. often. Carbon builds up around this valve because it doesn't open until around 6200 or 6500 rpm or so... That thread also gave instructions on how to unstick it..
