Engine Light...
Bought my 2004 Mazda RX8 three weeks ago. Love the car to death...then my check engine light came on. My friend hooked it up to his code scanner. The intake manifold control runner is apparently stuck open. Bought the car with a warranty...so not a big deal I'm thinking. Wrong. They won't cover it due to it being a preexisting condition...wtf. Said it was going to be $1200 to $1400 to fix. Any suggestions on how to handle this?

Extended warranties are typically a big rip-off

You may be able to free it up. Listen for the self test that occurs when you shut of the engine.
Or it could be this

Yea I kinda think they are too now... First time I ever went on my own and bought a car without any guy help and now I'm kicking myself. The salesman pretty much explained to me that anything under the hood would be covered... obviously not the case. I can work on small things like brakes and oil changes but anything more is out of my skill set. All my guy friends said I'd be sorry for buying this car and damn if I'm going to let them be right. In my next life I hope to be reincarnated as a Mazda mechanic so I can clean the carbon build up out myself and save $1200 bucks. :/
