Exclamation Engine light after removing bumper & install rb intake.

Hi guys.
Ok im not quite sure when the CEL came on but it was yesterday & could of been on 3 events...

1. I removed my front bumper, disconnected fog lights & indicators to alter some plastic behind my grill. Then fixed it all back together all fine. - all lights work ok.

2. Serviced my Racing Beat intake, removed strut brace, all bolts, Blue piping and MAF. and the K&N filter. - I cleaned all of this apart from the MAF sensor, and put it all back together...

3. After installing the Revi kit back on, I went to start the car and it ticked over, nearly started and died!! I checked under the bonnet and i had not plugged the MAF lead back in. Plugged this in, and worked straight away fine!

Please can someone give me some ideas what could have caused it and how to remove it? it is a constant CEL not flashing etc, car drives perfectly. got over half a tank of petrol.... would re-setting the ecu work?

Many thanks in advancce.

the CEL was probably on because you didnt plug it in

give it a few runs and see if it goes away.

I would diconnect the battery and reset the PCM via the brake pedal pumping trick and holding down the odo reset button to be safe.

Thanks for the replies so quick, all sorted now anyway. I tightend the petrol cap, and un-plugged and plugged back in the MAF and its gone!
Cheers
