Not sure if this was ever discussed, wasn't able to find a something solid, but here is my question.

Does the Cobb AP work with European ECUs straight from the box or does it need to be specifically made for them cause of something different? So in short, is the AP region restricted or "locked" or can it be used on any RX8 regardless of region?

 

The AP needs to be able to read the ROM on the ECU....so some versions of the ECU are not compatible. Which ones they are I do not know.....contact Jeff to find out

 

On the website it says it works on 4 and 6 port and 5 and 6 speed versions of the European rx8. I doubt that it is region locked but just email Jeff like dannobre said and see what he says. When you order it on MM's site it doesn't change what you're ordering based on your location, or at least it does not show a change.

i had this problem with my car as here in cyprus allmost of the cars are japaneese not european,and the cobb seems not to like them a loti have tried 4 ecu s untill i found one that was compatible.if you are planning to buy one i suggest to find from a friend and try it on your car before sarting to throw money away.i now guys here that buyed cobb but they did not work on their cars,they never got a refund and they were forced to sell them for lower prices.You can provede me with your ecu code and i will tell ya if it will work or not
