We all know that... I think. There's always people selling the midpipe in the For Sale section.

Well, I was at a track day yesterday and a few people mentioned I was shooting flames between shifts. That's good news because I have the stock cat and greddy exhaust! No need for a high flow cat or test pipe if you're looking to throw some flames.

Good times people. Good times.

As long as you get your stock cat hot enough (really hard driving), you’ll shoot flames

yup, but if that is the case, I suggest you get a new cat, because that one is either half gutted or is shooting our honeycomb particles with the flames, or both

Well the car is an '07. I'm not too worried about the life of the cat at this point. 10 year warranty, right?

it can be dangerous.

someone rev'ed their car at 9k rpm for a long time (15+ mins?) till the exhaust system melted the fuel tank and as a result we got the recall for the gas tank.

moral of the story - if you're stupid, god will find a way to set you on fire.

emissions warranty is different than powertrain or bumper to bumper.

when my car was installed with EMU and venting to atmosphere with the BOV, I blew 3-4' long flames almost every time I shifted while accelerating.

Once it was tuned and setup properly, it doesn't happen as much. Usually if it happens, it's short blue flames when shifting, or long *** lazy flames as I engine brake.
