Exhaust Ground Wire Hook up Needed?
I'm installing a new catback on my 8 today, but was wondering if I had to re-install the ground wire currently attached to the stock muffler? I saw an older thread discussing this, but no definite answer. Thanks

Does your new exhaust actually have somewhere to attach it to? The Racing Beat is the only aftermarket exhaust I'm aware of that features an ground attachment point - others don't. If not, remove it; if so, might as well put it back.
Been running mine for several years with no ground strap, with no apparent ill effects. The old one was corroded and broke when I had the exhaust originally installed, so I couldn't put back on my RB even if I wanted to.

just to expand on the reason why the exhaust has a ground strap (oem has it, my TXS had it, and my RR exhaust both have them) is due to the way that the exhaust is isolated to the frame by rubber mounts. as a very minor safety precaution, the ground strap is there to dissapate any static electricity that can be created by the air passing through the exhaust
