Experiment: O2 SIM
Obviously there is tons of posts about how there is no O2 simulator that actually works besides masking it with the AP. Well i found one thread in this forum that had this piece mentioned and how 1 member said it worked for him but there was never any follow up or conclusion.
Another item i want to test, but cannot find it on here for the life of me is a O2 spacer that some spamer posted but it had a mini catalytic convertor honeycomb piece built into the spacer and it was 50 bucks and no one wanted to test it and i would like to. So if you know what im talking about please post a link to it.
Im going to get this in next week and ill still be in my new engine break it period but im going to bolt up my exhaust again and test these out and see if we get any results.

Quick update. Finally got one of the L shaped ones in, cost me 30 bucks and just installed it. I average 700 miles a week right now on the car so ill see if/how long it can prevent a CEL.

Initial results are in. After about 50 miles the CEL came on and it was on for about 25 miles and then shut back off again and im at 100 mile since installing it and is still currently off. Im thinking it kind of works but not enough to keep the CEL off all the time. Keep in mind im not flooring it or even reving it above 4k since im still in my break in period, and it still came on soooo.

I really want to try out the one that has a mini cat built into it. I cannot find it anywhere though. The price of it was a little higher but i dont mind trying it out.

well that is freakin sweet if it works, funny thing is with a custom header and everything on my car, I'm still not throwing any emissions codes other then the Secondary Air system.

One of those worked fine on my Honda. That ecu is a different beast from the RX-8's though. The principle behind it is simple. Move the sensor out of the exhaust stream and then limit the amount of gasses that can get to it by having a small hole connect it to the exhaust. This way some gasses still get there and the ecu still sees them but the amount of lower causing the ecu to think the emissions are lower which means the difference between the front a rear sensor is greater than it is. That works on most cars but again the RX-8 is pretty finicky.

This should theoretically fix the problem we are all having. Has anyone tried this one yet?

the mini honeycomb has a chance of doing great, all the other non fouler etc type stuff is a waste of time. if you actually read all those old posts you mentioned, you'd know how the feedback to the PCM works and why the non fouler crap will never work for more than the rare 1%
