flawless emission test...virtually 0
i took my car to get an smog certificate to register it and the guy told me that the car is running perfect. he told me that if he would've kept the car on the dyno for a few minutes more the reading would've went down to 0 and he also told me that my car is soooooo cool. he was amazed how the car passed the smog test with these number being a rotary engine (known to be bad at emissions).
well so there you go mazda knows what they are doing.
way to go mazda :p
hopefully they will fix the issues and recalls
by the way i read for several months how bad the auto version of the rx8 was until i got my car this past monday. well let me tell you that it is amazing how it handles, brakes and looks.
i can live with the low-end torque while looking good and feeling confortable all day long.
thank you mazda for making such a wondeful and good-looking car i am already getting lots of complements.
getting the thermal recall next week because it does get hot in here mama.

Reminds me of a 2001 emissions test of my 97 Integra Type R, also on a dyno...
HIM: Have a seat, this will take about 5 minutes.
ME (after watching him go thru the gears on the dyno for like 10 minutes): What's the problem?
HIM: I can't get it to read anything.
ME: CAN YOU THINK WHY THAT IS????!!!!
...left about two minutes later with a passing grade.
Gotta love Illinois... stuck in traffic watching construction trucks belch black smoke into the air on my way to emissions-test my four-year-old LEV... the air smells cleaner already...

yeah those rollers are what the call dyno. it does not measure hp/torque it just simulates the car being driven on the street i guess.
No one has said anything about the emmissions that is something we should be proud of. virtually 0 emmissions. :D

I had to go through that with my Mazda6. 3 Inspection Stations over in Fort Worth, not a single one even knew WTF CAN was, let alone could read it. The first station tried to put it on the dyno, but couldn't figure out how to shut off TCS even after I told him how. Eventually I just took it to the dealer.

no inspections here in minnesota :D that is why after the Supercharger is installed in a year or so off goes the cat and really anything else related...straight pipe anyone?
http://www.pca.state.mn.us/air/mvetlocation.html
in South Africa they still sell Leaded gas...my cousins all remove the Cat on their new cars...start using leaded and the car runs like u wouldn't believe! Only mod I know that gives major HP/TQ increases after removing a very expensive part
that begs the questions...what if we used leaded gas?
