Flooding? Or Rip Off?

Flooding? Or Rip Off?
Hello.
My apologies if this has already been discussed. I feel like I have a bit of a unique situation.
I've had my 2004 6-Speed RX8 for about 9 months. I didn't get any kind of extended warranty, but I do have a 2 year 100,000 Mile warranty on the Engine and Transmission through the dealer.
A bit of a background, I've ALWAYS let it warm up before driving, ALWAYS let it cool off before turning it off, ALWAYS check the oil, ALWAYS rev it to burn off excess. I take care of it.
About 5 days ago, I drove it to work and back without a problem. I came out later that night, turned it on, let it warm up, then began to go. The car stalled in reverse, which I thought was weird since I've been driving sticks and haven't stalled in about 6 years. I turned it on again, except this time the car had NO power, was vibrating like a s*x toy and the CEL was flashing. I turned it off and called the dealer the next day, they told me to bring it in.
They then said that it was possibly flooded, and I needed 4 new plugs, new wires and 4 new engine coils. Parts and labor would be around $700. They're telling me its flooded. My issue is it MAY have gotten flooded when I had to turn it on for a sec and back off to get it on the tow dolly, but I feel like this happened after the fact of whatever the actual "issue" was.
Another thing, shouldn't engine coils be covered under my engine warranty?? I could understand plugs and wires...
What the technician said is that if I'm not burning a court of oil every 2000 miles I'm harming the car. I'm definitely NOT burning that, I might be burning half of that.. and I run that car hard.
What gives? Any ideas? Suggestions? Anyone had any similar experiences? And is the dealer trying to jack me?
Thanks in advance for your help.

If the coils/wires/plugs are old, or you are unsure when they were last changed, I would replace them. You can get everything and change it yourself (Not hard to do) for about 300-350, vendors here sell them. If your talking about the engine core warranty (8yrs/100k miles) then no, it's not covered, only the engine itself is.
