There is a DIY in the DIY section i believe. Its not very difficult just takes some time and some patience. Hardest part is getting the ring off the remove the pump from the tank. Takes a special tool but there are other ways to do it also. Check out the DIY.

I also have a used stock pump forsale if your interested.

Good opportunity to get a better pump/filter from the good folks at Black Halo Racing.

You need the special tool to unlock the retainer ring, which BHR will loan you (for a refundable retainer).

Make sure the gas tank is as bone dry as you can get it.

You need a special tool to get the ring off.

It was very hard to get off. I had to go to mazda they have a special 4 prong tool, but it still ended up breaking off, had to cut through it.

The ring was 90$ canadian to replace (freaking german made plastic).

For the life of me, I've been looking for the instructions and can't find them. I found this awesome thread https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-major-horsepower-upgrades-93/fuel-pump-solution-all-failure-modes-176491/ but even that one says instructions for removal and installation are elsewhere.

edit: of course, I find it 3 minutes after making a post. https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...p+installation
