I run 87 in mine...and have up for majority of the last 24,000 miles since april 05 now. IMHO it runs better on 87. For constant speed/load highway driving 87 or 89 would work fine.

Lower grade fuel will degrade your performance at the top end, and may cause premature detonation (which is bad at high RPM). Maintenance is covered in the manual - you'd be best to follow the manufacturer's recommendations if you want to keep the warranty valid. Not 100% of spark plugs, but considering the finicky-ness and uniqueness of the Renesis, I'd keep it simple, suck up the cost, and go to Mazda, unless you can find a decent specialist in your area.

hmm....as i'm approaching the 30k mark myself, i am actually wondering these same things. i know for sure that i'm going to change out the air filter (which is probably well overdue by now), oil change (duh, lol), i'd rotate my tires, but since they're staggered, that's not going to happen, and i'm still debating on weather i should replace or clean off my spark plugs. if replacing them, then i'll go w/same set that comes with the car, but i'm also thinking about the bosch platinum 4 (if they make them to fit the 8).

oh, and as far as gas goes, i use 91 octane, but wouldn't mind if someone gave me a free tank of the cheapy stuff

Read the owners manual. Read the owners manual. Read the owners manual. Read the owners manual. And BTW, read the owners manual.

it depends on your car. some run fine on 87, some don't.

i put 87 in my car once and it hesitated and coughed the whole time, so i drove that tank off as quick as possible and went back to 92/93.

its really not an issue. for any given gas price, the difference will only be around $2-$3 for the tank.

ie.
12gal @ $2.03 (87)* = $24.36
12gal @ $2.23 (93)* = $26.76
difference = $2.40

12gal @ $100 (87) = $1200
12gal @ $100.20 (93) = 1202.40
difference = $2.40

* prices in atlanta as of 11-21-05

regular works fine.

change your plugs. they are shot at 25k miles. i know i saw mine at 30k miles.

at 30 k miles i would put in a can of b@g 44k cleans injectors and rids carbon. ~15 bucks for a can. made a big difference in my car.

the only thing extra at 30k miles is change trans, diff and brake fluid. DO IT.

i went to royal purple trans and diff fluid. made big difference shifts like butta.

Didn't you get a user manual with your 8? Did you not read it?

Bosch,....no.

Don't be putting any of those cheapo Bosch P4s in your rotary, they are not nearly good enough.

What would be a great upgrade for a Civic just don't cut it on an '8, stick with the Iridium NGKs!
