first things first, search works wonders.
second question, the rotary consumes oil as part of its operation, depending on how hard you drive will affect how much oil you consume.
as to how much gas you will consume, again it depends on how much you drive, how hard you drive, etc. what do you drive right now, how much gas mileage do you get in your car.
i would say if you are unsure if you can afford the gas for the car, then you probably cant afford the car.

I would divide expected montly miles by 15mpg times cost per gallon to give you a more accurate and possible over estimated amount of gas that would be consumed. You would be doing great to get 20 all the time.
To give you an idea of what I use in a month, I drive rougly 800-1200 miles per montly, I would say 70% city, 30% highway, and I spend anywhere from $125 to $160 on gas during the month.
Now with gas at $3 a gallon here, 220 miles is going to cost me around $40 to fill up.

I would make that "Expected Monthly Miles divided by 13 MPG times Cost Per Gallon where you are". That way if he gets what appears to be the normal mileage for the RX-8 he won't be too surprised. If he actually gets 20 MPG then he can have the "fun" of posting to the board and chastising other owners.
Of course all that needs to be converted into litres / 100 km for the original poster who appears to be in Europe - that is approx. 18.09 litres / 100 km.

If gas is a concern, then you might want to look at something else. Especially with gas going up. The RX-8 loves the gas/oil cocktail :D
EDIT: Of you're in Europe - well maybe you gas price will be stable then.

I fill up once a week, about every 250 miles, when I fill up it costs about 35-40 bucks (3.19 GAL @ 93*OCT (98*RON for you i think)). I use about 1qt of oil ever 1000 miles.
That works out to about $0.18-$0.20 Cents PER mile driven or about $1.00 every 5 miles, that is just the cost of FUEL and keeping the OIL full (doesnt include oil changes, insurance, car payment or any service items).
I have only had the car 4 months now, but so far when I factor in FUEL, keeping OIL full, car insurance 225/month, car payment 400/month, oil changes every 3months/3000miles) It comes out to be about $26 dollars a day to have the car and drive it around, add to that the cost of tires one a year, brakes once a year and lets say $1000.00 a year for service not covered by the warrenty Im looking at about $32 bucks a day to OWN this car and have it as my daily driver (work, fun, track days, ect.)
$32.00 a DAY = $11,680 a YEAR
Thats a large ammount of money, for you (in europe) it will be an even larger investment.

you're insurance is $225/month?
but to answer the question, gas here is ~$3.30USD/gal for 98RON, and i spend around $150USD per month just on gas. the car is my daily driver, and i put about 1000 miles per month on the car. i'm average 18.5 miles per gallon on my car and use oil at a rate of about 1quart per 1500 miles.
also, all the info that you've been presented with will need to be converted so that you can compare it with your regional prices and determine if you can afford the car.
