Gas tank internal brace removal

I'm putting a series 2 pump and siphon in my series one tank and the white internal brace on the right side is different. This image is the series 2 brace which has clips for the siphon tube to keep it in place, the series 1 brace does not have these clips. I'd like to swap them. Has anyone removed these pieces or are they integral to the tank construction?

AC

That’s the float. It comes out with a 1/4 turn twist. I’m not sure if the S2 float is compatible with the S1 though. I never compared the ohm output signal spec before. Honestly, I’d question whether you need to worry about having that clip.

Thanks,

I don't use the float on that side so no concern there. Without the siphon hose clips the pickup does not sit flush with the bottom of the tank.

I'll twist tomorrow.

Thanks again

Just take some stainless safety wire and tie it to the S1 float stand regardless.
