Gauge Levels

Gauge Levels
Hey all, I was trying to get an idea of where the oil pressure level and the engine heat level gauges were supposed to be because when i got my 8 the engine heat level is always maybe a fifth of an inch before the engine heat sign even when driven for a while, and for my oil pressure its always a third of an inch after the oil pressure sign. I just wanted to make sure that nothing was wrong that i could be possibly making worse by driving it that way. In the manual it says that when the engine heat level is above the middle of the gauge its bad but it says nothing about it being under, and for the oil pressure gauge it doesnt really say anything about that or maybe i missed it idk lol. I want to take care of this car right so If anyone could tell me where the gauges are supposed to be id greatly appreciate it.

Oil pressure is not a real gauge, but rather a idiot needle. It will move to the On position (just a 1/4 inch or so above middle) if you have any oil pressure over 10 PSI and be off for anything lower.

hey Rx8driver08, welcome to the club!
Unfortunately the RX-8 gauges are all 'dummy gauges'
The water temp (engine heat) always goes to the same spot and is not progammed to move until the temperature exceeds 232 degrees or so. (by then your'e heat soaked)
The oil pressure either shows pressure or not. (as Icemark mentioned)
Here's my solution to that little dilemma:
go here for details on the gauges: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/diy-rb-gauge-pod-nordskog-digital-gauges-133938/
