A good OBD-II/CAN device?
Do people often purchase OBD/CAN devices to debug the car computer? If so, what brand is good? I read in another thread that the RX8 uses the CAN protocol and not the OBC-II protocol. So, I found one brand called AutoXRAY and it has three models, ranging from 300-500 dollars.
Any ideas if this is a good investment or if I would be wasting money.

Tell me more about it. I had checked into a device that can send data to your PC about performance by linking to the OBD device, but because CAN protocol is used on the RX-8 (and Mazda 6) it won't work.

here's the one I found, its the priciest model:

I think this one is the best one I can find (out of the few that exist). It covers OBD-II and CAN protocols.
If you do a search on "controller area network" on this site, you get three models. Which one would you buy? I am thinking the cheapest one would be the most reasonable.
