good source for a switched 12-volt power source under the dash?
can someone tell/show me a good source for a switched (i.e. only hot when the igintion is on) 12-volt power source under the dash?

thanks for the heads up. i just took a look at the whole 19 pages of the fog light rewire diy post. it's helpful but the fuse box is under the hood. i'm trying to install a switch right next to the dsc switch and need to find one under the dashboard. the lines from the switch are only so long....
dang it...should've bought that test bulb when i was in autozone last week....

Sorry to have led you through a 19 page wild goose chase...I misread your post.
Do you have the shop manual and wiring diagram? Even more verbose, but if someone with better reading comprehension than me does not pop up everything is in there. PM me if you don't have that.

Fuse....
The fuse box on the drivers side has plenty of sources, if the draw is reasonable, the "acc" fuse for instance.
If you take the lighter out, there is good power and a ground right there.
