Got some new stuff today
I took my 8 in for service yesterday. I had a squeak in the dash and a thumping sound when I rolled up the drivers window. I also complained of poor gas mileage and a few hard starts. The dealership installed some new high performance spark plugs, and gave my car the newest PCM flash, which I guess is "N". The throttle seemed a little more responsive driving home from the dealership, but other than that, not much change I've noticed yet. I'll post any improvements that I notice.

jaguargod, did they fix your thumping sound from the window? I also have that periodic thumping sound when I roll up the both side windows. Wondering that is natural or a real problem.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yeah, high performance might not be the best description. I just know they were improved. They weren't going to give them to me, but the tech test drove my car with some sort of diagnostic tool that measures fuel mileage, and he determined that my car got poor fuel economy, so they went ahead and let me have them.

Same problem (periodic thumping from window when closing, squeeking dashboard)
The dealer fixed the window thumping by replacing the motor assembly, but they are still claiming they cannot reproduce the squeeking. It seems to come from the driver side airduct and it gets worse for me when I drive the car a long distance (>45 min). At that point it is continuous and I don't have to go over any bumps to hear it, the vibrations from the road surface are enough. Any ideas of what is causing it anybody??
