Greddy turbo CEL and possible cure
My inspection is due by the end of July and I live in NJ where they hook up the inspection machine directly to the ECU so if I do nothing I know I will fail.
I was speaking to Dave at KD Rotary in Penn today about that problem and he said he has replaced the front and rear O2 sensors in a few RX8's and their CEL's have gone away - Does this sound feasible ? I found the front and rear O2 sensors on line for about $130/ea.

Once you pass inspection in NJ they place a "good" sticker on your windshield. The installer is supposed to move the sticker from the old windshiled to the new. The sticker also has your VIN & Make and model, having a fake sticker is risky. I also don't see how a window installer would be helpfull. Your better off befriending a garage owner that does inspections.

A good number of people wait until the sticker expires before replacing the windshield so moving an expired sticker is irrelevant most of the time. Your risk level assessment is misplaced. The sticker is real and not fake. When have you ever been pulled over and had the officer make a thorough inspection of your sticker for counterfeiting or tampering or matching the VIN in three places? Police are more concerned with the issues at hand, valid insurance, speeding, stolen car, DUI, their safety. Expiration, VIN, make and model can be easily altered on the sticker. Unless your befriended garage owner can "inspect" your car for $20 in your driveway, you may not be better off.
