Gunky Oil Dipstick

So I was checking my oil level today, and when I took the dipstick out, there was a bunch of gunky almost milky-like stuff on the stick. I wiped it off, tried it again, and it still looked the same way.

I went ahead and drove to the nearby Mazda dealer here to ask them what it could possibly be, and if I should even be concerned. They told me that recently Mazda sent out a letter saying that this sort of appearance of the oil dipstick is normal and is a result of condensation.

I'm getting my oil changed this Friday, just to be safe.

Just wondering if anyone else out there has experienced this. Let me know. I don't want to be the only one who's had this weird gunk... haha

So has anyone here gone ahead and taken advantage of the ventilation kit that they have devised?

I'm pondering whether or not I should have them put it in when I go there Friday to get my tail light replaced...

Any thoughts would be helpful!

I think that I'll have them put it on while I'm also getting a tail light replaced while i'm there.

So I went ahead and tried to call two local Mazda dealers about the ventilation kit and neither of the guys who I spoke to in the parts department even knew what I was talking about! Haha... good thing I had the part number handy to make them look stupid.

Neither dealer had the kit in stock, and they told me that I can't go ahead and request an order for this part because it is not a known recall (blah blah blah...) and nothing comes up under my VIN#. So basically, I'm stuck taking the car yet again to the dealer, explaining the problem, and then they have to call Mazda Tech and get the okay to order this part for me. WHAT THE ****. I am so frustrated right now.... grr. What a hassle...

To those who had this kit already installed, is that what they told you as well? Or did you go in saying that you know this is an issue that Mazda has had addressed and you want the kit installed?

Sometimes I feel like these dealers are pulling my leg... hmph.

Got it.
Yeah, I tried explaining that it's super difficult to read my oil level as well... but it still didn't work with the parts guy. *shrug*

Do you think the oil change might help a little?
