What do you mean by "takes longer to start"?

Does that mean that it cranks really slowly?
Does that mean that it cranks fast, but after about 2 minutes, it finally starts up?

Have you had the battery tested?
Have you ever replaced the starter?
Have you ever had the ignition coils, spark plugs, and spark plug wires replaced?
Have you ever had a compression test done on the engine?

A healthy car starts within 4 seconds. Usually closer to 2.

Take a bottle of ZoomZoom Cleaner and 2 hours time. It's worth a try.

I have similer issues with my 04 RX. i changes the basic plugs coils wire ect... and i still have starting problems when the car is warm, when its cold its starts fine. I dont belive it to be the starter just cus it will have similer problems when it was cold, and the starter it only 2 years old. next step it to get a compression test done this week, the warrenty expires in may 2012 so i hope it fails.
i keep every one posted on the results, this seems to be a common issue now.

Like they said above, if you guys already changed coils, spark plus, and wires and you still have hot/warm start issues either your starter is ****, or it may be time for a new engine. Ive been on my second engine for about 5000 miles now and my first engine lost compression. The main symptom was after a 20-30 min drive my car would have to cool down for 5-10 mins before it would crank over again. Before you buy parts etc you should take your car to the dealership pay around 100 bucks and get a compression test so you wont waste your money.

The problem with this is that. Some dealerships are loaded with wrench monkeys and they cant do any of the test right. For example. Test an engine thats cold. It will always give u much higherncompression numbers.

So u should ask around and see if that dealership is good b4 u go and do the test ...

This definitely makes sense. I've had bad experiences at 2 Mazda dealerships in Houston but I finally found one that is perfect! I also wasn't aware that cold engine would give higher numbers on comp test. You would think the Mazda techs would be smart enough or properly trained to know that smh.

the FSM actually tells you that you must run the test on a warm engine, but their definition of warm means the engine is all warm up, not just "warm to touch", if it's just warm to touch it really means cold.

No, you didn't do everything.
Because if you had, you would already know the answer, and wouldn't be posting like this pile of drivel above, which is barely understandable.

Calling people babies doesn't make anyone want to help you any more.

And you're right, it is a forum.
We've been here a bit longer than you have, and have posted countless times to countless threads by countless numbers of people who have had IDENTICAL issues that you are complaining about.

I have read some of them.
You obviously haven't, otherwise you would have already either fixed your car, or gone in for a compression test after having spent a bunch of money on parts that hadn't really improved things.

BC.
