Check the DIY section, I'm pretty sure there's a thread in there about this.

Looked for a DIY and couldn't find much of anything. Anyone seen information on this topic previously or can provide a link ? Thanks.

Thanks for the link. I was thinking that adhering the heat barrier to the underside of the vehicle would be easier and accomplish the same thing.

Rather than adhering the insulation directly to the underside, I recommend that you cut and form a peice of aluminum or steel around the heat source. Then rivet the heat shield to that. Leave at least an inch air gap on each side of the plate.

Sorry. I misunderstood your intentions...
As for myself, since I don't have access to a lift it's easier and less labor intensive to
pop off the center console and apply the insulation. It works too.

So um were in so cal are u? if u get this done or something I’m really interested in trying it too.

Its barely the start of summer and its so hot, a little heat shield all through out the cabin might be very cool.

The material is a thin heat-reflective one. In principle, I think you'd do better with something that also has an insulating layer. Sticking with the same product line, this looks like a better choice, if the thickness can be accomodated:

I think dyna-mat also makes a material for heat purposes.

Yes, do a search for sound proof or dyna mat.

A guy in Orange County did his whole car but he used sound proof and not the heat resistant stuff. He did it under the carpets, trunk, and the roof too.
