There are two sensors in the exhaust stream, the first one on the exhaust manifold is the upstream sensor and it is a wideband O2 sensor. The second O2 sensor in the exhaust stream is the downstream O2 sensor and it is located in the cat pipe (midpipe) and it is not a wideband sensor so it is cheaper. The downstream sensor is also less important and generally when it is failing, it will not cause issues with the way the car actually performs.

I get the difference between the front and rear... There's just a manufacturer that lists a front, upstream and rear sensor. So it confused the hell out of me. I'm good now.
