Help! I'm replacing the shift boot center console how the hell do I remove the ashtray light.
The whole console is out but need to remove the ashtray completely, it really in the way!
And don't say cut it!

work a thin bladed screwdriver or spudger (yes, it's a word, look it up) between the white light housing and the black plastic ashtray assembly. Pull and it's out

 

Thanks I'll keep in mind for the next time, I worked around it, new Syncro-Saver in and new center console my old one was scratch to hell on the driver's side. The 2-3 hour job turn into 6 as usual, I'm always afraid I'll brake something.

Did not realize how long the center console would take to get out and get back reassembled.
