HELP!! Post-Jiffy Lube problems...!!!
Ok, so I took my 05 sport MT to Jiffy Lube yesterday for an oil change. They did the signature service where they changed the oil, the PS fluid, and checked the tire pressure. When they were finished, I drove away with all systems functioning normally (seemingly...).
This morning on the way to work, I noticed that 2 of the warning lights were on. So I pulled over to consult with the manual to determine exactly what the lights meant. Turns out, it was the TPMS warning light and the PS system warning light . I don't have a tire pressure gauge, so I just got out and pressed on the tires with my hand. It seemed to me (based on my entirely inaccurate and subjective testing method...) that the tires are over-inflated, as they don't give at all to my forceful pressure. If I remember correctly, yesterday when they were checking the pressure (or putting air in, i couldn't tell from my vantage point) they said something about 30 or 32 psi.
So my questions are:
a) What is the correct pressure for the factory dunlops?
b) What can I do to verify that all is well with the PS system?
(I got back in and after a few miles, the lights went out. However, when I got to work and turned the car off and then turned the key to the "ON" position, the light came back on and sounded the BEEP in addition to the PS light, the CEL, and the battery light come back on)
ANY AND ALL ASSISTANCE ON THIS MATTER WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

b) what is PS?
a) I've had my TPMS light come on when my tires hit 28.5 psi and lower. The manufactuers recommend pressure is 32 all around. As you drive around the ari in the tires warm up and the as it does, it expands and exerts more psi. This is why the light goes out, and after sitting for a bit it cools down, and you get teh light. By this, I would assume that your tires are in good condition and your air pressure is just bordering the minimum threshold before the light is triggered. Keep in mind, that it may just be one tire with lower pressure than the others, or maybe two....either way...you need a guage to check it out and put more air in it.

Since the RX-8 has electric power steering (PS), which doesn’t require fluid, I wonder where the Jiffy Lube ‘ Tech’ put it?
I recommend you do the following
1, lose the phone number and directions to Jiffy Lube
2, Go to the dealer and ask them to check out the steering. Do not mention Jiffy Lube or they might make you go to them to pay for any repair if needed. If they notice the Jiffy lube filter just say you got a basic oil change with no extras.
3, Learn how to change your own oil, or have the dealer do it.

I didn't know that the system didn't take fluid (PS = power steering). If that is the case, is there anything they could have done that would cause the warning light to come on seeing as how they couldn't have put fluid in if there's no place to put it?
BTW = I know how to do it myself, but I didn't feel like doing it. I guess that's the cost of being lazy

I've always been amazed at the ability of the monkeys at the "quickie lube" type places to screw things up...even at opposite ends of a car from where they are working.
Never the less...it probably has nothing to do with the service...take it in and get it looked at. It is an essential system

Is it normal for the PS light to be on when the key is in the "ON" position with the car off?

UPDATE:
The PS light hasn't come back on since the light came on yesteday morning, and ditto that for the TPMS. Hopefully all is well, as I've not had any issues with either the tires or the PS. Only time will tell...

This is what you get when your lazy! There is a lesson in this for you! lol
As some have said take it to mazda and play stupid as long as you can. If anything is seriously wrong with the car, have the them write up a estimate. Take that estimate to the Jiffy Lube and ask to talk to a manager. Tell him what is going on and whats wrong with your car "AFTER" you went to his station. If he's smart he'll call up his DM or Coperate office and have a check sent to you to pay for the bill ASAP. I've heard several horror stories on this board and even from friends about Jiffy Lube. Worse case if something is horribly wrong you might need to get a lawyer to get Jiffy Lube to pay for it, by no means please dont roll over and pay for this outa your pocket.
