<help> RX8 check engine light - ignition coil

hello guyz, i need some help asap..

Don't really know how this happened or what caused it..
but I'll try my best to explain..

gotta "check engine light" about 1 months ago, then i bring the car to the one and only mazda service centre in jakarta, they cant connect their computer to my 8 becoz there is a HKS SLD..
after they cut the HKS SLD, they connect and they doesnt see any problem, so they 'reset' my car computer.

after that, the light is off.. but after 400 km, the light comes again..
i go back to the service centre with same method, the light is off again, and about 2 km when the car is moving, the light comes again..

finally they diagnose and detect it was an ignition coil b primary/sec circuit

they say it all bcoz i put my HKS-SLD on my computer.. but i think the mechanic doesnt know much about SLD.. he dont like the SLD i think

this is the error i see on the mazda computer:

----------
Powertrain Control Module
P0352
Ignition Coil B Primary/Secondary Circuit

----------

mazda want me to buy a new computer to my 8, but it cost $$$$ T_T
Does anyone have any suggestions?

about my cars:
rx8 manual 2005/06

my engine mods:
- fujita engineering exhaust
- k&n intake
- autoexe groundwire
- hks speed limit defencer type III-z

btw i live in jakarta, indonesia..
sorry for my bad english..

thx for the reply..

Why buy a new computer if it's only a bad ignition coil? How much do they want to charge for the coil? You could install it yourself.

^^ Im with mike.

You DO NOT need a new computer for that. Your Tech is giving you ****.

Buy the coil, install it yourself. You'll just need sometime.

By the way, why do you need the HKS SLD .......

When the coil about to go bad, it will put a lot of stress in the ignition driver circuit almost as if your have a short circuit and potentiall burn out something. So if it go undected for a long time it can do major damaged. However, that's what the fuses are for that could prevent those abnormally to the PCM.

Question, did the dealer ever check the ignition coils? I bet one of them coils have some bad burn marks on them in order to trigger the cell and damage the circuit (if it even damage at all, you'll need to first check and replace the coils first).

Like other said, just replace the coils and see what's going on.
