Help - Short Check Engine light blink
So, I was on the way to work this morning and something odd happened. Under hard acceleration, the check engine light started blinking - I had essentially floored it and shifted at about 8000 RPM to second when I noticed the light start blinking. I immediately let up and shifted to 4th traveling about 40-45 mph and it stopped blinking after about 3 or 4 seconds. I drove normally the rest of the way to work and it never came back on.
I had let the car warm up nearly all the way before even moving it, and then I drove for 5-10 minutes before this happened so the car was fully warm according to the gauge though the outside temp was only 10 degrees F. It was cold but the roads were clean and dry.
Can anyone tell me what happened? My car (2005 sunlight silver MT, GT, stock) only has about 24,000 miles on it, I just checked the oil several days ago and added some to make sure it was good. It's due for an oil change this week but that's the only maintenance it should need right now that I know of...

sounds like most people are getting the plugs from sparkplugs.com so that's where I looked. Does anyone have advice on where and which ignition coils to get?
Also, looking for a DIY (or at least tips) on replacing the ignition coils - haven't looked under the hood to see how tricky this might be

I went with the stock plugs, Magnacore wires, and stock coils and ended up spending just about $300 for everything after shipping ($90 for plugs[sparkplugs.com], $88 for wires[Pettit], and 120 for coils[Finish Line]). Any big mistakes there? - always willing to learn...

misfire +2
But don't replace anything.
These cars are known to misfire.
You can get them to misfire with new plugs and coils so......
Don't bother replacing anything until its time to do it.
Otherwise you are gonna post like the other members... i replace plugs and coils and i stll get a cel light...
Sure fix is only......
Access port from MM
However, if you track it you can still get it to misfire.
EDIT:
MAGNACORE I think those wires are bad for the RX8. Aren't those the ones with the capacitor in them?

I read around people on the forum who had good reviews on the wires so hopefully they will perform well....I tried to do research and it seemed to come down to magnacore or racingbeat (those had the most positive reviews in the tech garage I could find)
