HELP!! Turned engine off before warming up!

Hey I just to move my car so my bro could get out the driveway and I turned it off before it warmed up. I have always let it warm up though and just forgot this one time! I am scared to go start it, what should I do?!
Does it always flood the 1st time?

Give it at least an hour or two before you try, that will let some of the gas evaporate.

When you attempt to start, put the gas pedal to the floor, then crank for five seconds. The computer cuts off the injectors when you do this, and that will sweep any remaining fuel out.
Then start normally, holding the key to 'start' just a little longer than normal, just in case it stumbles.

Okay thanks! Is there any chance nothing happened and that I can just go out and see if it will start?

I just did what you said and it started right up after I did the cranking for five seconds. Idk if it would have started without because I hadn't tried but was too afraid lol. Should I worry about any engine problems coming from turning it off like that? I won't do it again, I can't believe I forgot!

I think you're overreacting; everything's fine. You can forget about it.

Yeah, most times it's fine if your ignition is in good shape. I wouldn't make a habit of it though.
Never had to do mine, but have helped others.....and if you have to go through the long deflood procedure, then I guarantee you that you won't likely do it again.

This is one of the problems with this car. You cannot just turn it off until it reaches the temperature that it needs to be before shutting it down. It's a hassle and its making life complicated as it is.

I did it on purpose and it didn't flood...Maybe because I upgraded the starter..with OEM coils and plugs..

It's not guaranteed to flood, even with the old starter.

Just guaranteed to make you paranoid.

Iirc, the newwest flash for the ECU helps prevent flooding anyway. So I've heard, I've never tried.

Just a little food for thought however.

You'll still flood out eventually. Weak coils and/or plugs and/or battery is a sure way to prove it.

Don't ask me how I know...

I make a point of letting the engine run for about a minute before I even try to drive - a stall while the airpump is running (and all the additional fuel being added) is just begging for a flood.
