help w/ new exhuast
I bought an exhaust recently, took off the stock exhaust and when I took off the Spring loaded nuts they were easy to take off but now putting them in I have no idea.
Whats the easiest way to put these in? I tried 3hrs of putting them in, I used a clamp and I got one side in and the other side I can't get on.
this is what I'm talking about.
It's a MT Rx8/ Exhaust is helix & im using the stock bolt from the cat to the midpipe, and stock yellow springs.

yes they are needed so that the exhaust can flex around the doughnut, just go to home depot or any hardware store and find some similar springs and then cut them shorter then the factory springs.. i had the same problem with that exhaust and thats what i did.
or............ if your nut and bolts are different then stock, just grab some washers to provide a base as you tighten your nuts down..sounds funny..lol
if you have an aftermarket midpipe, just change out the hardware to close the gap so that a spring or spacer is not necessary.
just a few options, good luck

I can't possibly see how it can be anything but the easiest job in the world to do unless the new exhaust inlet doesn't fit over the donut gasket enough
edit: looking at the pic this appears to be the case, another over-rated Helix exhaust first

lol, actually the problem was that the flange did not go down as far as the stock one because of where the pipe was flared at the doughnut. the hole in the flange was not big enough...... yeah, it should be easy, if it was designed right......
another issue why I'm just making a new piece.
