HID ballasts issue
#51
i just did this to mine, and here are a couple of notes.
it took around 2 hours to do the whole thing, i did clean everything, and polish up the lights while it was apart.
i cut a channel in mine. the plastic is actually flexible enough that once there is a cut from the opening of the headlight to the opening of the HID ballast/controller, that you can pry it open and put the harness in.
top tip, cut the channel with all the bulbs installed, as getting the F.O.D. out of the light is an extra 15 minutes or so.
its a weird design, as there is no weather proofing in the ballast, and the headlight is "sealed". i ran a bead of silicon in the cut.
before you put the bumper on, plug everything in, and make sure it works.
there is also a fuse for each low beam, and a 3rd probably for the high beams, check those before you pull it apart, it won't be the problem, but basics first
putting the bumper on was easy, offer it up to the car and it almost just popped on. put a bolt in at the top, and then the next step is to plug in the fog lights! then you an reinstall the 10,000 other fasteners.
