A History of Violence
My 8 has been across the map from Maine to LA. I have to say post havng my car here there and everywhere inbetween that LA is a terrible place to have a nice car. Ok weather, yes is nice, but its an expensive place to protect your ride. Just out of college I've had to street park my 8 in a not so great neighborhood and I'm paying the price for it. I've had one side of my car side-swiped and the mirror (curb side when parked) drop kicked. This week I just had my second tire sidewall blowout and as you might expect its starting to wear on me. ANYWAYS:
Took my 8 into have the tire replaced and when they're finished it won't start. The guys (whom I trust) say they left it running after moving it with no issues. I'm sure however that there is a 99% chance it was flooded somehow or another. It was left off all day (not sure if this helps at all with the 8 turning over after being flooded) and when I arrived there to give it a shot there was no luck. We didn't however smell gas when trying to start (I do have gas in the car btw) and were guessing if it wasn't flooded then maybe it was a kill switch or security issue post being jacked up for the tires. Is there any possibility of this?
I noticed that the security light was blinking on my dash after the car had been unlocked via the remote. Battery was being perfectly responsive, trying to turn over but just not getting there. Is this sounding like a flooding issue no question? Any help would be appreciated to avoid a $175 or so trip to the dealership.

I would recommend having it towed back to Maine!
Is it out of warranty? The flooding issue has been covered by warranty I thought. I'd tell them you want the new starter and battery while it is in there. The thing spins so much faster (or at least sounds like it does) that I hardly think of flooding it now.
Oh, and try the deflooding procedure too. There is also the squirt the washer fluid into the engine trick that you can find posted on this fourm but it doesn't sound right to me.

The car won't start when the security light is flashing. It will do this after a dead battery or a battery disconnect. I don't remember exactly how to get the security light to stop but basically the chip in the key has to get reregistered with the security system. Try locking and unlocking the doors with the key in the door and then also locking and unlocking with the key fob.
