sounds like an alignment problem, when it goes on the rack you are supposed to have the steering wheel straight and there is a linkage that you can adjust if the wheels are straight but the steering wheel is not.
take it and get it aligned should fix the problem

You slid into & hit a curb at speed... Not good
Hopefully all you did was bend a tie rod.
Definately get the car taken to an alignment shop, (or the dealer) as soon as possible to re align the suspension & check for bent parts.
Best case all you need is to re adjust teh alignment, You might need to replace a tie rod if it got too bent.
Worst case (Not likely though) you bent more stuff & will need parts replaced/ straightened
If your wheel didn't break the impact wasn't that bad though... (Check the wheel carefully for damage though)
Lesson learned: DSC does not protect against defying the laws of phisics... when the road is wet & traction is reduced... slow down!!!

Any shop.
You don't need to take it to the dealer, and I probably wouldn't recommend going there, as they might put a notation in your file that you hit a curb, and might void your warranty on associated parts (shocks, ball joints, etc) in the future.

It very well could have damaged the steering rack as well as many other suspension components. $4200.00 is a dealer price but with used pieces it could likely be 1/4 of that price.

The dealer will replace a rack if the tie rod end is bent.
I doubt it broke the rack....get it checked out or buy a used one.
I could see the bearing if it took a really bad hit...but the unit bearings are quite strong...
Take it to a good alignment shop that you trust and get someone else to take a look at it

i guess i will bring it to some other place for them to take a look at. all the dealership told me is that i need 4200 for changing rack and pinion and wheel bearing and front rotor.

The steering rack itself is probably OK, but the attached tie rod could be bent. If not too bent, the alignment can be adjusted to compensate. But, a suspension control arm could also be bent, or the frame could also be affected. If the wheel bearing isn't making noise and the brakes appear to be normal, then they might be OK, but should be checked anyway.
I would not relay on the dealer to give you the final word on what needs to be done or at what price. I would try to find an independent shop to get another opinion, maybe a shop that specializes in alignment. I have one here locally that I would trust with anything, but that may not be local to you.

Good point this car electric steering. For instance I had a flat tire in the rear the car will try to componsate and correct it self to be straigh throwing the cpu off which will also make the steering wheel not be straight even if you do have a correct alignment.
I hit curbs trying to drift first thing Fisrt inspect the problem if u need parts go find them and fix it your self if u can last. Or u might as well think about anothet car if u let them fix it I'm just saying. I had total of 5grand in damage going thru f/in ins when i could have fix it my self for a 1000.

dealershipt didn't tell me if my tie end rod is bent they only said the rack and pinion need to be change, and my wheel bearing doesn't make any sound except my brake when i step on the brake i can heard click sound that why i think the front rotor might be bent. then the rest i just heard from the dealership

Wait, $500 a month for insurance? Good god that is a lot. You must have a lot of accidents or tickets on your record man. I am 26 and get full coverage with a 1k deductible(I know its high, but would still be better than $4200) for like $130 a month and I know people on here that get even better prices. Even if I dropped my deductible down to like $250 I would not even be close to the $500 a month mark, what is yours at?

Yea you do get a drop in price at 25 and then every year until 30 it can go down a little bit, finally at 30 you should get a good price drop. That is still a lot to pay per month 500cdn is basically 500 usd. Maybe check around at all the insurance companys you can for a better rate.
