How does the OEM Navi tie into the stock stereo system?
I have a 2008 GT with Auto, Upgrade Bose Head Unit/Amp, and OEM Navi. I have purchased a Double DIN JVC head unit, Axxess module to retain steering wheels controls and the Metra faceplate kit. As crappy as the OEM Nav is I do find it useful in some cases. Especially when I'm travelling in the states as using my iPhone based Navi requires data, and roaming data charges are incredibly high. $50 for every 75Mb!
I've had all of this stuff for months, but I haven't pulled the trigger on the install because of my lack of knowledge about the RX8's wiring. Specifically whether I need to do anything special to retain the OEM Navi functionality. My guess is that it is mostly independent from the Stereo System, however the voice prompts are fed into the speakers at some point.
If someone could point me to the wiring diagram for the OEM Navi and Bose Head Unit/Amp I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
