As the title says... stupid as it sounds, but I can't get that socket out to replace the bulb. Does it have to be twisted, pried, pushed, pulled or what? I didn't want to force it but the usual method of "twist the socket a 1/4 turn then remove" doesn't seem to apply here...
The last thing I want is to break something so if someone could please tell me how to do it, I'd appreciate it.

Heh... thanks - I have the service manual too, but that doesn't say how do you get the socket out.

I keep thinking about this and fighting the urge to go take mine out. It just can't be that difficult but sorry, I don't know. Then again, I fought with a pop out screw for 30 minutes changing my fog light bulbs... good luck.

Never mind... it twists indeed. I just took the courage and twisted the socket hard counterclockwise - and with a pop, it released.
