humming sound?!?!
so yesterday i was driving on a mountain road thats near where i live, and i wasnt really pushing it or anything. didnt miss shift, didnt grind any gear. Afterwards i was driving home i missed a revmatch from 4th to 3rd going around 45 mph. While the rpm rises i heard this humming sound coming from the tranny im not sure what it is. so i did the samething 4th to 3rd but this time i didnt revmatch at all and the humming noice is really obvious
so this morning i took the car to the dealership n describe the sound and everything. the guy at the dealership told me its most likely my clutch that's slipping......??? i scheduled an appointment on thursday. so just wondering anyone else here got the same problem?? humming sound when downshifting without revmatching and is it the clutch?? and if it is, is it under warranty??

Have your transmission oil level checked or changed.
I had a BMW do exactly that a few years ago- it turned out that the rear main transmission seal had failed and I was loosing oil but I couldn't smell it and it wasn't dripping on the driveway. The tranny lost 2nd gear shortly after- I opened the drain plug and only got one drip of oil out of it. I ended up having to buy a parts car to replace that tranny, it was expensive.
