I think Timbo is going to do some testing via an emulator on an Apple device. Correct me if I am wrong, Timbo!

Cheers,
Hymee.

I believe you'll find unacceptable latency communicating throught the hardware USB --> OS-level usbserial virtual port --> emulated serial port. Virtual PC is an amazing amout of overhead, both in terms of processing and $$$. Emulation is not a solution.

Hymee - I'm going to PM you with a proposal/info.

is it possible at all to take a similar information system from another car and convert it to work in the rx-8.......my 99 cougar has a similar type system that gives you total miles available and audibly alerts at 50, 25, and 10 miles left in the tank.........it also has total miles driven/outside temprature/ and something else I cant remember

other related info are low brakepads, possible icy road visual alerts at 45f and 32f and if theres a bulb out anywhere outside and recomended maintenance alerts (3000/15,000 miles)in addition to the usual others like low fluids....... but the system is really good.........in fact its to much information for such a car
