I used fully synthetic oil I need help with information?
I have a concern between 16,000 miles and 24,200 miles I have used fully synthetic oil. I need help!!! Now I got 25,300 miles and its on non synthetic oil for about 1,000 miles already. It got my attention when my oil light came on within 3 days multiple times and my check engine light flickered a few times. this past weekend. Can I please get an explanation on the rotary oil usage of non synthetic and fully synthetic oil. Whats the harm? Did I experiance any damage to the engine? What do I do? Whats should I be looking for? Where? I am really concerned, I am gonna take the car in for service again since the dealer serviced it last. Please help me, let me know as much as I can. Thanks.

Relax a little.
Your CEL has nothing to do with your type of oil. It could be anything else, but it's not your oil type. You have done no harm to your engine at all. Some here will chime in and say you shouldn't mix synthetic with mineral oil....those people are too ****. They wash their hands five times before leaving the house.
Others will tell you you shouldn't use synthetic at all. Synthetic is fine. Go on with your life. Don't give it another seconds thought.
Get your CEL checked out by all means, just don't worry about your oil.
Cheers,
Gomez.

Its hard to tell. Thansk for the reminder. It seems its in a mily mildu and from what I noticed today it seems very low. But why would it be low after an oil change and its only been 1,000 miles?

There shouldn't be any meaningful difference in oil consumption between the 2 oils. I agree, they probably didn't refill it properly, or there could be a leak from the drain plug or oil filter. Add some oil to get back to the full mark and then keep track of oil consumption. This will also give you a chance to check the filler cap -- is it still there? They might have forgotten to put it back. Also check for leaks and verify the correct type of filter was used.
I don't know what "mily mildu" is, but maybe you are having what is described in this thread: a milky substance coating the dipstick, making it hard to determine the level?

So I went to the dealer and they said the CEL was a missfire. They topped off the oil and ordered a new oil dipstick dipstick tube. It was day 2 on driving on the topped off oil and oil light still came on. And it came on twice any guesses?

When they said it was a misfire did they change the plugs? I had the same problem about a month ago when I got up about 6,500 rpm my engine light would start flickering at me. They changed the affected plug and it was fine. I don't think the CEL light in this case is related to your oil.

How early is your car? The really early ones had an oil level switch problem in the sump that was repaired under warranty.

There has been a LARGE amount of debates on synthetic/mineral oils in rotary engines. I think it's pretty much a matter of personal preference but I do believe that's it's not the best idea to switch between the two. I might be overly "****" and I might do a lot of hand washing before I leave the house but I think one of the best ways to do anything is to be consistent. I have heard from many people that if you do run synthetic, you'll want to run synthetic for the life of the engine.
