IAT sensor - wrong temp?

Hey guys.. I'm trying to clear up a P0456 and P0442 CEL and I believe its a faulty gas cap, which I replaced. Anyways, I cleared the codes and I am trying to perform drive cycle mode 6 to see if the CEL comes back on. In the first step it says:

1. Verify that all of the following PIDs are within the stated specifications. All PIDs must be within
specifications before the engine is started to initiate the evaporative system test.
• BARO: More than 72.3 kPa {542 mmHg, 21.3 inHg}
• IAT: 5-35 °C {41-95 °F}
• FLI: 15-85 %
• B+: 10.9-14.6 V

The baro reading is good (29.x HG), but the IAT is showing 117F. There is also a PID for ambient outside air temp that says its also around 117 or something. Well, since I don't live in the Sahara desert, and I actually can see on the radio display that the outside temp is 75F, what gives?

Also, I can't even find the FLI and B+ readings.

Hm.. I guess nevermind... I just went out to check it again and the IAT reading is consistent with the actual outside air temp. I've had it sitting overnight in the garage and I'm guessing when i took its reading yesterday, the engine was still hot and causing the IAT reading to be higher. I wonder if I'll be able to complete the drive cycle now since I began it yesterday with the IAT out of spec and you have to leave it parked for 5+ hours :/

Depending on the scanner you are using you will possibly only see OBD11 specific PID's...

Some on that list are OEM specific PID's that some scanners can't read..or that need an upgraded software to read

If your car is heat soaked..the IAT of 117 degrees isn't out of line...drive it around a bit and see if it goes down closer to ambient

well.. I tried to finish the drive cycle, but the odbii system readiness is still showing inc for evap.. sigh.. maybe because I began it with an IAT out of spec range? Also, for step 6 below, do I have to keep it at 40 - 50 mph continuously or just get 5+ mins total in one drive cycle?

Mode 6 (EVAP System Repair Verification Drive Mode)

1. Verify that all of the following PIDs are within the stated specifications. All PIDs must be within
specifications before the engine is started to initiate the evaporative system test.
• BARO: More than 72.3 kPa {542 mmHg, 21.3 inHg}
• IAT: 5-35 °C {41-95 °F}
• FLI: 15-85 %
• B+: 10.9-14.6 V
2. Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the WDS or equivalent.
3. Start the engine and idle it for more than 10 s , then turn the ignition switch off.
4. Leave the vehicle is this condition for more than 5 hours .
5. Start the engine and idle it for more than 15 min .
6. Drive the vehicle at the engine speed of 65-80 km/h {40-50 mph} for more than 5 min .
7. Stop the vehicle and turn the ignition switch off.
8. Leave the vehicle in this condition for more than 10 min .
9. Start the engine.
10. Access the ON BOARD SYSTEM READINESS to inspect the Drive Mode completion status.
• If completed, RFC changes from No to Yes.
• If not completed, turn the ignition switch off, then go back to Step 1.
11. Access the DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING TEST RESULTS to inspect the monitor results.
• If MEAS are not within specification, repair has not been completed.
12. Verify that no DTCs are available.

finally got the evap readiness monitor to set.. restarted the drive cycle last night by letting the engine cool down sufficiently so the IAT was within spec range. looks like the gas cap was the problem.. no dtcs.
