If I change the speedo cluster in my RX8 will the miles change depending which cluster I put in? or will it stay the same?

did anyone try doing that? or any ideas?

I might need to change the speedo cluster as somehow its been damaged..

Mileage is stored in the ECU, so no, replacing the cluster would not affect the total mileage shown.

mileage is actually stored in a can module in the dash. to get this done right you need to be at a dealer who can do the proper sequence with his diagnostic tool

Pay somebody to dial it back for you. You're doing nothing wrong. DO NOT take your car in for service until you fix this, otherwise carfax will find inconsistency in your mileage history and flag it with odometer tampering.
