Ignition coils catalytic convertor coolant level

Seem to be getting all the common faults at once .Engine light came on in car the other day only drove it two or three times and brought it to dealer. Was told today ignition coils are gone and this caused catalytic convertor to go. Surely engine light should have given enough warning. Anyway got quoted 176 euro for each ignition coil and over 1200 euro for catalytic convertor without fitting told me if it was insurance job car would be right off this has to be exxageration. Anyway got a few prices for stuff off internet anybody reccommend website??? Will it damage car if I keep driving till i get it fixed. If i get a decat with this do to replace cat convertor. Has anyone done this and got it nct d i heard rx8s are excempt from emissions so it should pass with a decat???? Also coolant light keeps coming on and off now. Its an 03 model late december 38000 miles full mazda service history . I was wondering would I have any comeback with mazda as its low mileage and this seems to be common problem......

Help needed Really frustrated

Thanks

BHR ignition upgrade, go catless with a catless midpipe (you will still get a check engine light which can be erased if you get a Cobb AccessPort), or buy a used catalytic converter.

Google will be your best friend bcfc1979.

Also, BHR's midpipe is among the best.

This community is among the best in getting help. But you DO HAVE TO do a lot of research on your own first. Come back with education questions to these relatively easy and overly discussed topics.

Cause bad coils make the shok wavez that smash up the cat gutz (half joke). The coolant level thing is from just temp cycles the material defect cause false reading cause tube bends.

People shouldn't get annoyed when someone ask a question in a forum except when someone pretends to have done the searching. I find it hard to believe anyone who claims they can't find anything on coils and cat, if they admit they are lazy to read through the search results thats another thing.

We need more info on your coolant problem. The RX8 has a low level coolant sensor. If your coolant is low, and sloshing around, maybe that's tripping the sensor out and making the light come on. Make sure after the car's cooled down to fill the coolant with a good 50/50 coolant. Google also does search this board. I despise the vBulletin search engine, so if I have a specific question, I just google it. Nine times out of ten, RX8Club.com is the top result.
