Hi eighters,

Well I had the grinding issue up shifting above 3k, 5k, etc as well as for down shifting. After tinkering with the clutch pedal height for weeks and finding no results, I took it in to a shop. Had the transmission taken apart and the synchro's, hub sleeves amongst many other parts were worn out and just had them replaced. The transmission shifts like new.

At the moment I don't have the list of all the parts with me, when I get home I will pull them and post the parts list.

Cheers

On the personal note

The transmission lasted 6 years of hard driving (track). I don't think it's odd that it needed maintenance, when I had the trans apart all gears were fine, just worn out parts that normally wear out through out time. So, I don't think it's something to not expect.

I have friends who have other makes of cars like Subaru, Vw, Evo, and S2k. Some had transmissions blown, wear out and replaced in way shorter time period.

I guess you play hard, you pay hard... =P

$1,000 for parts (parts had to be ordered straight from Japan in my case...)
$700 for labor

Remove, rebuild and install
