Immobilizer or Key RFID Range

Immobilizer or Key RFID Range
Does anyone know if there is any better antenna or system that will extend the range that your immobilizer can pick up the chip in your key. I am looking for a way to get about 2-3'' and still have the Immobilizer be able to receive a signal from the chip.
The only way I can disengage the immobilizer is by placing the key right against the ignition because it has no range at all. I also purchased a Immobilizer bypass box/system (remote start style), and the key only works right against the antenna band in the immobilizer bypass as well. Once it isn't against that antenna it locks the car start out.
Do the newer switch blade style keys have a longer range, because I found a DIY on making one (switch blade key). I was just wondering if anyone knows the range on those keys.
Can the new style key FOB be programmed to the same ID as the ID in your key to disengage the Immobilizer and allow you to start your car w/o the key in to right against the key hole. Can the signal from it be picked up using a Immobilizer bypass system, and then the signal sent to the Immobilizer ring in the ignition.
Or is there another electronic device I can buy that can be programmed and copy the RFID chip inside our key, and can be carried around on a key chain. That will trick the immobilizer into thinking the key is present.
I do not want to disable the immobilizer system or leave a key in the steering column, but I want something I can carry around or mount in the car to extend my RFID range.
Like I said I need a way to get 2-3'' of range between a Immobilizer/Immobilizer bypass and a key/S.B. Key/ Key FOB.
Thanks and hope someone can offer advice
