Increase air flow from the hood to the side vents?

Has anyone expanded the small holes from the hood to the side vents?

I see two small 1/2 - 1 inch holes near the hood hinges that go to the fender vents, behind the wheels; has anyone enlarged these holes to allow more airflow out of the hood?

Hmmm, let me take a look.

Edit:

I can see the holes and they do open up to the area down by the vents but I doubt much air flow feeds that way with the brake master cylinder, etc. there.

You also have to be careful with engine bay air flow....since our radiator is mounted at such an angle it is more dependant than a lot of other cars on less air pressure in the engine bay to help with air passage through it. The rear of the engine bay is right over a high pressure area beneath the windshield. So if you open any area around that...be careful. Now the side air vents--since they are recessed probably could provide some appropiate flow out of the engine bay BUT, remember you will be fighting the factory design of exhausting everything beneath the car.
I remember speaking with a young driver by the name of Billy who happened to be a nephew of the NA presiden Robert ...( cant remember the last name lol) who told me they tried everything to reduce underhood heat in the RX8 and the only thing that really worked was hood ducting right over the radiator and moving stuff around to allow that radiator air to exit the ducts.
At speed the oem system works well--its during low speed operation that it doesnt.

I suppose it would be expecting to much for you to quit enabling behavior that only makes the search function harder to use? That's probably why he didn't bother to address this in one of the many threads about it.

at this point in the board's life the search function is so hopelessly useless that adding more threads like this does little to the overall craptacularness of the system.

wanna search the rx8 board, google search is your best weapon. want to find a search by a particular user, then use the built in search function.

I agree, unless you've been following the threads here for a while, searching is very time consuming.

The other day, I wanted to find a thread with OMP adjustment values using AP and ATR. I ended reading some threads (some with more than 200 pages) and just gave up. I guess the thread happened when I was a bit inactive on this board.

Thanks laythor, but I used those terms and read the first two threads that looked relevant. I also tried various permutations of "Accessport", "Cobb", "AP", "ATR", "AccessTuner", "OMP", "tables", "values", "oiling" but none really had the info I was looking for. Maybe the info doesn't exist, but I doubt it. This board talks about everything.

For all I know, it could be under a thread titled, "So, I'm having oiling issues..."
