FL installing a 93 motor in my RX8

So all my rotory junkie friends are saying that the best thing to do isinstall a third generation motor once my motor dies. my 2004 is on its last leg and the compresion issue wil probably end its life soon. i did this once with my 85 GSLSE. So i am debating since i do want to go turbo eventually maybe i should start on this project now.

any thoughts/

It depends on your budget and better start doing a lot of homework for this project.

Your rotary friends are idiots.

3rd engine sure looks nice, but a properly ported & tuned MSP engine can get another 20-30 hp NA. and when turboed, since it flows much better, it will create even more.

not to mention swaping a REW into the 8 will need you to rewire most if not everything, that's if it will even work.

Have fun with the swap and don't cry when it cost too much

just buy deathwalkins 05, hes selling his and that would be worth the money if you really want this unless you can do like 90% of the work yourself

I'd recommend getting your msp rebuilt, tuned, new housings, ceramics.....and all of that other fun stuff. You will then be able to enjoy driving your car sooner than never. I had a beauty 13b-rew, dreamed of it, realized I was much better off upgrading everything I had instead of a swap. I am very happy with my decision. + like nycgps mentionned, after this is done, a turbo set up is more that ready and willing when you have that "second round" feeling.
An FD motor is great in an FD.
