Installing Fuel Pressure Sensor
#3
I haven't bought anything yet. Here's a link to their product. They want an additonal $20 or so to ship it.

That is a nice product but for that cost you are better off buying a second factory fuel line and modifying it to accept the more standard type of sensor adapter. Here's the thing with this adapter; even if you install it in-line where the red "quick-connector" fuel fitting first appears under the hood(near the brake master cylinder) you'll either have a pressure sensor coming away from the adapter perpendicular to the fuel line, which isn't very attractive and will be in the way a lot of the time, or you'll still have to get a 90 degree fitting anyway. The other option would be to mount the adapter on the fuel rail side of the fuel line so the 90 degree fitting would not be needed and the adapter/sensor hardware would be hidden out of view.
Are you just looking into installing gauges for appearance purposes or are you going with a power-adder and need the fuel gauge?
BTW, I think a more reasonable cost for this adapter would be in the ballpark of $30 USD. I say this from the perspective of one who knows how much productions costs are and how large the market could be for PTP if it were priced at this level.

I'm going FI in the fall and want to get the gauges installed pre-FI to get a better idea for tuning it. I agree on the cost being a little excessive for this. I was wondering if anyone had tried to put an adapter under the seat at the fuel pump.

There has got to be someone who did this differently.
Yes there is a 60 dollar piece from summit or bhr. But you also need the spendy plug.
Has anyone just cut the line and installed a T? Or just clamped on a whole new soft fuel line with a T?

The aeromotive fitting just works perfectly and is not a permanent change so it was a no brainer for me.

This is what happens when there are too many threads on the same subject,
also when people can't spell
https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/fuel-pressure-sensor-location-127893/
you will feel like a real champ if your cheap alternative results in your car catching on fire, $60 + plug, but it plugs in just like OE. Don't be stupid trying to save a dollar.

In any case, at least i didnt start a new thread.
MM, have you since switched to the adaptor, or are u still useing the softline solution?
