intake issue
I have a AT rx8 with k&n version two intake
At first i had K&N version one intake
either way with both intakes whenever i go uphill or sometimes when i get around 5k rpm my car bogs down. sounds like crap, almost like too much air is coming in or just the car cant take it. I dont have my stock intake to put on and test. i dont know if its just the K&N intake and getting a aem or other intake would solve it. But its real bad and sounds like crap at high rpm
any ideas

Yep it's the CAT.
Mike go up a steep hill in Anaheim or go to Mount Baldy. See what happens when you go up hill.
If it craps out your a lucky bastard that can get an RP mid pipe with CAT.
Then you will have one bad *** CAR.
Too rich a fuel mixture from factory is causing CATS to fail. Especially AT as you can't Rev them high enough to blow ot the crap. The AT's shift at too low a RPM to make the engine, plugs and CAT to work properly.
Hell the AT's overheat like mad in Nevada and Texas.
2) Check the installation. If looks good check the throttle body cap. Then buy CARB cleaner or Starter fluid and spray the vaccum lines. If it finds a leak you will see the reaction in the car.

395 plus shipping for the best CAT That's the RP CAT
It might be tough getting a new factory CAT since Mazda warrenty is 50k.
Tell them per the EPA that it must last 10 years or 100,000 miles.
You will like the extra power from the RP CAT. Remember it's loud.
