i seen one with the said kit, the battery corrosion stuff somehow got around the area and it's rusting like complete ****.

complimentary useless information.
N3H613195 Intake Resonator (Air Box Exhaust Chamber)
I measured the exact 222cc of volume with two chambers/ turns
I think it would work somewhere around 400hz.
6 ports engines have two of these tho.

It's under the filter box.
In my setup, I used 4 ports airbox to eliminate the second resonator and shaved all inner fines for a max sound.
2nd sound resonator on 6 ports

By listing this clip I would say its design to eliminate the noise of the omp vacuum and/or airline to primary ports.
Edit1: Apparently, I was wrong on both parts,
The omp sound is around 1600hz
The resonator calculation should be a J pipe as it bends in the chamber.
Edit2:
in case someone wants to dig it a bit more.
"The results showed the internal volume of the resonator and frequency tuning affect the intake air mass flow rate at a wide range of camshaft velocities. For a fixed volume, the average increase of the mass flow rate was 17.8%, and when the volume was adjusted according to valve frequency, the average increase was 24.7%. The highest intake air mass flow rate was increased 31.5% when the resonator was tuned to the frequency of the system."

Before I forget it, this the isolated sound of OMP injection,
Edit: for an unknown reason it does not shows soundcloud link.
It's 1700hz while the intake resonator frequency around 400hz, could it third harmonic wave ~1600hz?

Agree, you are a pointless person with a pointless personality.
If you pointless rx8 doesn't have it still has the blocked hole.
In general, I have been ignoring you here since the last time I explain to you the difference between types of the alternator pulley
as I find you like 90 years old nagging woman full of negativity apart from being poorly educated.
Do me a favor go write your pointful comments on other threads and never ever ask me anything.

Unlike the counter comments directed at me, my post is directed at the information being posted, not the person posting it. How is that a personal attack in comparison to the replies made to it?
.
Apparently Mazda Engineering agrees with your symbolic gesture since most RX8s regardless of port configuration don’t have that device from the factory. The”plug” as you called it is an integral part of the air box casting as manufactured and supplied by Mazda. The device being referenced by your digit there likely only exists in certain countries to meet a particular sound limit requirement. It has no actual performance benefit at all and most people won’t even know the difference with or without it. In addition to it only relating to a small subset of RX8 vehicles, this is specifically why I discount the validity of the postings being made about it. From a practical viewpoint, the information is not relevant and of no useful value to pretty much most RX8 owners.
