interior room

i want to buy a rx8 but my main concern is how much room there is, you see i'm not really a tiny guy, 6'7 and not thin, so i'm just curious if there are any tall people here driving the rx8 comfortably.

wow, i'm allllmost 6'1" and my hair scrapes the roof sometimes going in/out. as far as seating goes, i still have about 4 more clicks to my seat being fully back. take one for a test drive and come back with your impressions, my initial one would be that it would be a tight fit for you. good luck

If your 6'7" your best bet is to drive one without the sunroof. The sunroof cuts down a little on head room. I'm 6'1" and I have the sunroof but absolutely no issues with headroom.

i'm planning to go sit in one this week, it doesnt matter to me if its tight getting in as long as once im' in my head isnt on the ceiling, keep in mind i like to drive with the seat back as far as possible and also tilted down cause i'm legs are so long. but for example i'm driving a 96 accord right now, and i fit fine, a little tight but its no prob, i test drove a g35 i was able to *drive* it but it was obv not going to work out. my other thought is if it is pretty close to good i can probably find a new seat that is lower, or have the seat track moved back a couple inches to give me more room, but def if i could get a new seat that is lower it would also help, its incouraging though that your 6'1 and have clearance still.

Yeah I'm the same. I drive with the seat all the way back(long legs) and the seatback angled back pretty far(long arms) I'd say try one out and let us know what ya think. btw, of all the cars I've owned the seats in the 8 are some of the most comfortable. I drove the Z and the G35 but just didn't have that same comfort level as the 8.

I am 5'10" 180 lbs (no flab, well, not MUCH) and I actually feel that the car JUST fits me. Add 9" and the associated girth and I would think that this would be a bit tight. I do, though, have quite a bit of free adjustment room to the back and I have a sunfoor.

if you were to fit it, i would assume the car would be a 3 seater.

You may have enough headroom, especially without a sunroof, but you may find your legs interfering with the steering wheel. I'm abut 6' 1" and my legs won't go under the wheel with the seat all the way back and all the way down (but with slight elevation at the front for thigh support.) This primarily means I have to push the brake pedal from the right edge, not straight-on. I wish the wheel would telescope a little, although arm-length is about right as it is now. Adjustable pedals would be the ideal solution for me to fit, I think. It's actually comfortable seating for me, despite not being ideal. Quite acceptable compared to some other cars. I sat in an Accord at the time I looked at the RX-8 and it was very roomy and comfy, but it has much more room than the 8 so there's no way for you to know without trying one on for yourself.

eesh is everyone on this board 6'1?? come on i'd be alot more assured if there was at least one person 6'3 that fits so far, how much does the wheel go up? is it just the wheel or does the whole column tilt?

Definatley black!....er I mean blue. Green is discontinued and may be harder to find exterior OEM parts for it. Keep us updated!
